Caught a listen of a few edits from New York based Nicolas Jaar these past few days (they released a couple weeks ago). The music the 20 year-old produces is real funky and disco-based. It’s hard not to see why they have been getting so much playtime among other blogs.
Nicolas was born in NY and raised in Chile but at the age of 11 went back to NY with his family. Being in the music hub, he started composing piano-based tracks until he discovered electronic music. At the ripe age of 17 he submitted his first track to the label Wolf & Lamb, which fascinated them enough to work out a deal. Nicolas Jaar has been expanding ever since.

A classic from Florence & the Machine turned magnificent remix comes to us in Cosmic Love, an encompassing soft electric melody that will clog your pores and lift your spirits. Flor uses that eclectic voice that makes her so unique within the industry. I love her stuff- (find more here). The short club edit is dynamic and innovative. Its been a longtime favourite of mine for awhile now.
The original version of “Cosmic Love” arrived as a single on July 5.10. Buy more Florence & The Machine here.

Last weekend was awesome but we sure missed a few days worth of music. Here’s a short little splurge to round out the month and in many cases the summer.
As always we hope you enjoy and find what you’re looking for on Aerial Noise.

Mellow and chill, DJ Agent 86 strikes again with one of our newer favourites entitled, Microdot. It’s sly and sleek containing a hint of hot disco fever.
“Microdot” is a rollin’, 303-drenched, synth-monster with heavyweight kicks & a sleazy, driving bassline.

Wow! It’s been forever since I’ve tossed up some PUNCHES on here… but I honestly don’t think I could have tossed up a better track. Let Go is one of my all-time favourites and has that knockout kick these guys always possessed.
PUNCHES was born during a cab ride one cold, Brooklyn December night, with thoughts of warm weather and the perfect summer soundtrack. Composed of twin brother DJs Finger on the Pulse and Alan Astor, PUNCHES is united by a common goal to get you moving. The sound is dynamic and fresh, heavily influenced by disco vibes with indie elements. They have produced original tracks featuring Alan Astor on vocals, as well as an official remix for indie pop sweethearts Au Revoir Simone, which you may have heard earlier on Aerial Noise with the remix to the single Only You Can Make Me Happy.

Little Loud’s remix to Goldfrapp‘s Believer is pretty spectacular. The UK native has steadily been adding remixes to his myspace over the past little while. Believer is not only the newest but my personal favourite. The soft vocals compliment the disco background so well. If you are looking for something light and groovy, look no further.
Goldfrapp continue to make a great canvas for remixers. For those that don’t know Alison Goldfrapp (vocals/synthesizer) and Will Gregory (synthesizer) have been making sick beats since 1999. That’s over 10 years of dynamite music! We have only featured a bit on them but if you missed out on the past check those posts here.

North Carolina’s Hidden Cat a.k.a Madison Bullard made a huge leap the other week after releasing his rendition to Dirty Projector’s Stillness is The Move. A light track with some phenomenal synth breaks. Infectious to say the least. Bullard also recently dropped his new EP, which you can all have a free listen too here.
If you like this, you’re also going to want to check out more of his remixes featured here on his myspace… zing!

It’s a triple threat Monday! I couldn’t decide what to post so all three of these should do. If you’re already having a bad start to the week maybe one of these will help ease the pain.
To lead things off we have Martyn. An individual who I didn’t know much about before hearing this track. Now I have his myspace tabbed and there’s more to hear than this beauty below.
This track can be found off Tiga’s album Gentle Giant Remixes, released July 12, 2010 on Turbo Recordings. Purchase that album here.
♫ Tiga – Gentle Giant (Martyn’s Heaven Remix)
I think most of us can just look at who is involved in this next track and almost know before you hear it, that it will be something you will want to hear again. Bold statement but it will live up. You have got to love those rifts.
♫ In Flagranti – Business Acumen (Holy Ghost! Cover Version)
A little disco-pop mix to cheer things up a bit. Edwin Van Cleef has produced some dancefloor hits in the past, some of which remain hot today, but this feel-good track could impact just about anybody. A perfect cure for the Monday woes.

Thought I would kickoff today with a beat that has completely taken me over. This chill I get is from Royksopp’s new single This Space. I’m not quite sure what that feeling is but it’s so overwhelming it feels like it could be life changing. An epic instrumental that embodies some of the greatest laidback and relaxing moments of my summer.
Listen to this on a dock, in a car, in a bed, in a chair, in a waiting room, and while you dream because it’s that good.
Throwing back with a little old-school Gunstar. The Irish mate knows how to produce. Below he shows off his soft Futurecop! like skills in The Dream Machine and then spoon feeds us some of his own eclectic electric beats in Idee Fixe. Last year blogs had deemed him similar to GRUM, and Russ Chimes holding on to the fresh 80s synth vibe that was becoming hot as hell. There sure was a lot of potential there.

There is no mistaking Grum’s flare while on the dancefloor. The DJ/Producer has recently added a few new billets to the summer/fall lineup and it is looking pretty damn good. If you’re currently residing in Europe or Australia you may want to take a gander. His shows are dynamic, phenomenal and consistent!
These few tracks listed below are new additions to the site. A couple are more recent but like most of Grum’s remixes they grasp a whole new concept of good. One of my favourites is the new Gamble & Burke mix to their new single, Lets Go Together. Check them below and always support Grum by purchasing more music here!
The scary thing is, the best is yet to come.

Robbie Loggia is an up and coming DJ/Producer from Brooklyn, NY. He recently released a new remix to Leisure’s Outside These Walls that’s gold. The PR line that came along explained it all: ‘Like Treasure Fingers, [Robbie Loggia] produces synth and guitar based disco house remixes with chopped vocals and massive buildups designed to blow up the dance floor’. His music is so good; Brooklyn may not be able to contain him for long. If you’re like me and dig the beats there is plenty more to hear on Loggia’s myspace.
